นิทาน เรื่อง ลา กับ จิ้งหรีด
A Donkey and a Cricket
ลา โง่ ตัว หนึ่ง กิน หญ้า อยู่ ที่ ชาย ป่า
A stupid donkey was eating grass in a forest
ได้ ยิน เสียง จิ้งหรีด ร้องเพลง เพราะ
The donkeyheard the sound of a cricket
ลา อยาก ร้องเพลง เพราะ อย่าง จิ้งหรีด บ้าง
The donkey wanted to sing a sweet song like the cricket
ลา ถาม จิ้งหรีด ว่า
The donkey asks the cricket...
กิน อะไร จึง ร้อง เพลง เพราะ?
"What do you eat to make you sing so melidously?"
จิ้งหรีด ตอบ ว่า กิน น้ำ ค้าง
The cricket replies, "I eat dew"
ลา จึง เลิก กิน หญ้า และ กิน แต่ น้ำ ค้าง
The donkey then stope eating grass and starts to eat dew
ไม่ ช้า ลา โง่ นั้น ก็ ตาย
Not long later, the stupid donkey died
เพราะ ลา เป็น สัตว์ กิน หญ้า
Because the donkey is an animal that eats grass
เมื่อ เลิก กิน หญ้า ไม่ ช้า ก็ ตาย
After it stops eating grass, it will shortly die.
