My name is Jan Dara.

เกิดที่ใจกลางกรุงเทพพระมหานครนี้เอง
I was born in the centre of Bangkok.

ชื่อแรกคนที่ผมเรียกว่าพ่อกรุณาตั้งให้
I was given my first name by the man I called "Father".

ส่วนชื่อหลังผมตั้งของผมเองที่หลัง ตามชื่อแม่ของผม
I gave myself my family name. It was the name of my late mother.

แต่คุณเชื่อไหม
Believe it or not...

ตอนที่ผมเกิด
when I was born...

หลังจากที่หมอตำแยกควักผมออกมาจากช่องคลอด
just after the midwife pulled me from the womb...

เพียงแค่อึดใจเดียว มารดาก็สิ้นใจ
my mother's life came to a sudden end.

This is Khun Luand, my "father".

หลังจากที่มารดาผมตาย บิดาผมแสดงความเศร้าเสียใจอย่างใหญ่หลวง
After Mother died, he displayed a great sadness.

เขาประกาศว่าจะไม่แต่งงานอีก
He announced he would never remarry.
