than necessity. Bakeries selling sandwiches are either
catering for tourists and expats or for an upmarket Thai
clientele. The prices of the sandwiches reflect this market.
While a bowl of noodles on the street can cost you only
25 baht, a sandwich, which most Thai people consider a
snack, can set you back as much as 100 baht!
