Learning Thai the Easy Way! > Speak Thai > Saving Money on Your Next Trip!

When you are in Thailand, you might come across a sign like this at the counter to pay an entrance fee. It looks like it costs 160 baht to enter. Unkown to most tourists is that Thai adults can enter at 80 baht! If you go to other places then you will see a bigger difference. I know a lot of people complain when they find out about this. However, if you can speak some Thai you can usually get away with "Thai price"!

We have some questions and answers on this page which you will find useful. I know that sometimes a question can be worded in a different way, so try and answer all the questions before you are asked! It is also a good idea to know the "Thai price" and have the exact change ready. For this you will need to know Thai numerals. Also, visit the Thai numbers page to make sure you can understand all of the numbers!

A: Where do you work? (tum ngaan tee nai)

B: I work in Samut Prakan. (phom tum ngaan tee sa-moot bra garn)

(Samut Prakan is my province, you can use this or choose another province!)

Good luck!
